Recently, I had the honor of photographing my friend and coworker, Faith, for updated professional headshots in Lincoln, Nebraska. This session was especially meaningful because I have had the joy of getting to know Faith over the past year while working together at Nebraska Public Media.
Faith is an incredible Social Media Coordinator who brings so much creativity, kindness, and energy to everything she does. After graduating from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a degree in Journalism, Faith spent two years as a student worker at Nebraska Public Media before stepping into her first full-time role. Watching her grow professionally has been such a joy, and I was so honored when she trusted me to create images for this next chapter.

Before the session even began, we spent time planning the details, from location selection to outfit choices. Faith shared inspiration images that helped me understand the style and feeling she wanted to capture, and I incorporated those ideas into the final vision for her session.
One of my favorite parts of professional headshot photography is helping clients feel confident before they ever step in front of the camera. You do not have to know how to pose. You do not have to feel naturally comfortable taking photos. That is where I come in.
My goal is to make the experience relaxed, fun, and easy while guiding you through posing, expressions, locations, and styling choices.

For Faith’s session, we chose The Scarlet Hotel in Lincoln because its interior design perfectly matched the professional yet approachable feeling she wanted. The warm textures, layered spaces, and thoughtful details created a beautiful backdrop that felt polished without feeling stiff.
We photographed throughout the lobby and nearby outdoor areas, creating a variety of images that reflected different sides of Faith’s personality.
Faith brought two outfits for her session, one featuring a darker, more classic look with a black shirt and brown pants, and another that felt lighter and more playful with a pink shirt and jeans. Together, these looks helped showcase both her professionalism and her fun, creative personality.
The session was originally planned to be about 30 minutes, but we were having so much fun that we naturally went longer. There were plenty of laughs, genuine expressions, and moments that felt authentically Faith.
The best professional headshots do not just show what someone looks like, they show how they want to be seen.
